When I set the short pulse mode for a wave and save it. After that, I toggle thru the other modes. When i get back to short pulse mode- should the setting be saved? or is this wave only saved until you change to another mode?

This is what i do: 1. go to short pulse mode
2. adjust the speed dial
3. press the set button (LED blinks)
4. adjust dial to preferred frequency
5. press and hold set to save wave (LED flashes grn/wht)

Hopefully i am just doing something wrong.

Thanks for the Imput,
Roy

Manual (Look @ Page 5)

See if these help.

I have the MP20. It takes some patients to dial in a wave and set it there.

It does hold settings if the power fails, but not if you try and change modes. Happens to me everytime I feed my fish. I don't hold the button down long enough and it changes modes. Then I have to reset the pulse timing.

Let me know if you find a solution to this, because it bugs the mess out of me also.

cbianco-I follow those exact instructions. I can save the wave on short pulse mode; however, if i toggle to the next mode and go back to short pulse mode it will not save it.

Corydude-I do hold down the button long enough(blinks grn/wht). It should be saved. I guess that only means if a power outage it is saved...cause i know that works for sure.
On yours, if you save a setting, are you able to toggle thru modes and when you come back to the mode that you saved....are your setting saved?

I also tried several times to unplug the power and wait a minute...same thing.

I am going to call Ecotech tommorrow and find out for sure if its an isolated problem with my pump or that is just the way it is...

I was always under the impression that every time you switched short/long mode, you must reset your wave.

I misunderstood your question last night, sorry half asleep. :)

yeah it wont save the frequency, but it will save how strong you leave it. IMO i think its better that way, because some times its hard to take off anty-synk,so i would imagen the same for that

No, like clone said, when you toggle through the different modes, it saves the pump's rpm but not the timing.

BTW, I'm calling them on my lunch break to order a new control board...I'll ask them about this and let you know. But I suspect that's just the way it is.

Ok, just got off the phone with tech support. I can't verify this myself since my unit is dead right now.

Eric said that after you have saved your frequency, and it's flashing blue/green, your frequency is saved even if you change modes.

Once you get back to short pulse, double tap mode and your pre-set frequency should begin again.

Please let me know if this works.

Sorry, you double tap set, not mode.

I guess ill try both b/c, I talked to a guy named steve at Ecotech and he said once I save a wave and toggle thru the modes-when I come back the mode that was saved all I have to do is tap the set button once and it will revert back to the setting that were saved for that particular mode.

Im at work, so i'll try later and let you know .

hey cory what happend to yours?

water + circuit board = dead vortech

A hose came loose on my main pump (busted clamp that I didn't notice). Sprayed water everywhere in my fishroom. Hadn't counted on water spraying 6 feet in the air when I mounted the controller on the wall.

Here's the email I received from Eric:
> Cory,

> To save a wave, once you have set the short pulse to create the wave you want, press and hold the set button in until the driver flashes, once the wave is saved, you driver will flash blue/green.
> If you change your mode to reef crest or lagoon, and want to get back to your saved wave, simply switch back to short pulse mode, and tap set twice to return you to your saved wave.
