I have a DIY wavebox, from everything I have read and playing with mine you should need around 1 sec. pulses on a 6' tank. You need to make very small adjustments and give the box a minute or so between adjustments.
Good luck

so this one takes some good adjusting as well.
start off by finding out how to make some long pulses.
the wavebox works like this,it sucks water in then blows out and then the box fills back up and then blows again.
so if you left it on the adjustment form the person you got it from it wont work rigth.
then once you've figured out hoe to make some long pulses adjust the dail alittle and leave it alone for a good 20 mins.
like Dustin said you have to give it time to adjust itself for you to see the difference.
also you can try putting it compleatly under water and then bringing it back up to the water line.i dont know how it helps but it has worked for me a couple times.
So if you were fursterated with the VT's wait till you start working with this one.
HAVE FUN AND A BEER.

the only way i get some serious wave action is to completley submerge the system about 2 inches uner the water. an i know that is not the proper way to do it.

yeah thats what i meant to put it under and then bring it up.
im not sure if leaving it under water would really hurt it or not, so i guess its all up to you.
IMO just stick with the VT's you get more selection on flow patterns.
they both work great but thats just what i would go with.
