TxReefer baby clowns in 1 day.....for 2hrs.

I acquired TxReefers Clown family on Thursday and low and behold I had babies on Friday night. About a 1/2 hour after the lights went off I was watching the latest Fast and the Furious on DVD and got up for a refill when I noticed a bunch of little swimmers. They didn’t last long, as some peppermint shrimp were tearing it up, but how cool! The real trippy thing was my wife pointed out some other things that totally looked like baby shrimp. We quickly went online and they looked exaclly like baby shrimp. How could this happen so fast in a tank that has only been running for a week? Granted it is full of established live rock,sand and water from my other tank. Anyway, it was cool to see and I'm definitely gonna try and raise some of these bad boys.

Well, It wasn't clownfish larvae, It would have been a minimum of 8 days from spawn to hatch. However it could be possible if some of the liverock you got from me happened to have a clutch of eggs already on it. they spawn regularly

That must have been it. I added one rock - the biggest one I bought from you. BTW they are doing great. :bigsmile: Also do you still have sand from your main tank...I need more.
