IME, my anemone (H. magnifica) does not bother my clams at all.

I have a clam that was basically inside the tentacles of an anemone for awhile and didn't seem to bother it all. I moved it several times and it would always move right back into it. Startle it and it would clam down on a tentacle.

Yes it is...it's been moving around lately and it planted there a couple days ago. I've been watching the clam and it doesn't seem stressed by it. Should I look for anything particular? I can't move the clam...it's foot is set on the rock.
Dee

You don't need to do anything. However, if you want to move the clam, you can always cut it loode and move it. I would not recommend this but you can do it without damage to the clam

I don't have another spot for it. The tank is only 34gallons and I've got SPS frags all over LOL. The nem stayed in the spot I wanted it for the first couple of weeks...then got sucked into the tunze, but luckily didn't hit the propeller inside. After a week of sulking at the bottom of the tank it went back to the original spot and then started moving around a week after that. It's attached to the side of the clam now and I can see part of the mantle near it not coming out as full as the other side, but it's not a horrible difference. It's also touching an SPS and occasionally some zoas and it doesn't appear to be stinging them at all, which I thought was interesting.

Back in 2002 I imported a bunch of Teardrop Maxima from Vietnam and donated some to MAAST to sell to member for fund raising. Anybody still have any of these maxima at this time? I would love to see a picture of one of these

Mon, 3rd Aug 2009, 11:56 PM
I just trade the last of those clam for my H. mganifica last year. I was always Minh, but decided to use OrionN as online name.
I think it was either 2002 or 2003 around October.

Really? Never seen a Gigas with a mantle like that...
OrionN
Wed, 5th Aug 2009, 09:52 PM
That is a typical mantle of a Gigas. That was what mine look like. Mine was 20 inches when the tank crash killed him. I got him when he was 1.5 inches in Seatlle WA 1997

minh is correct. it was an aquacultured gigas that i got at CB pets. i had it for years, but it never grew larger than 12" because the two halves of its shell were not connected.
