Dustin, these were taken with a Canon 40D using a 24-70mm lens. All photos were handheld. Ended up not being enough time or space to shoot with the tripod.

Jennifer, I was just showing my wife and we got to talking about cameras, just what kind do you have and what were you settings at. We went to the Aquarium last year and didn't get anything that looked close to these.

MillerDog,
I use a Canon 40D and the fastest lens I have possible. In this case, my 24-70mm worked well. I have a faster lens (prime 28mm f/1.8) but the drawback is that it is a fixed lens. You can sometimes get away with using the lens hood against the glass vs. a tripod as was the case with the first 4 shots listed below.

JellyFish f/2.8 1/20 second ISO 1600
Shark f/2.8 1/50 second ISO 1600
Blenny f/5.0 1/8 second ISO 1000
Lobster f/5.0 1/6 second ISO 1000
Kids f/5.6 1/1000 second ISO 400
Turtle 1 f/5.6 1/1600 second ISO 400
Turtle 2 f/5.6 1/500 second ISO 400
Dolphins f/5.6 1/1000 second ISO 400

Yeah!! What He Said!! And YES!!,..Somebody should hire you....I used to work as a Layout artist for magazines and small publications and let me tell you...your Photos are better than a lot of Professional Freelance Photographers that I have worked with in the past (Including Texas Monthly). If you are interested in promoting yourself, give me a call...I can point you in the right direction....I can tell you that all of the pictures that I've seen could be sold as stock photography for a pretty decent price.

Thanks Princer7, I have now added them to my tank. Some of my other snails went bizerk and thrashed the near death Nerites!
