Hi, and welcome. I'm new too! Well, to maast. I moved here from NJ about nine months ago, with plans on working at the TSA, not realizing it was non profit, and that most people are volunteers. Got a job working for animal control and got laid off a few months ago. Luckily, I got a new job, and I'll probably be meeting a lot of you at GC Reef's grand opening coming up! I have a 24 gallon aquapod with some stale water and what is now most likely dead rock and dead sand, but I have so many tanks at work, that I don't feel I'm missing out. ...Not that I don't want to get it started! This site has really helped me out in the past few weeks, and I look forward to meeting new people!

Ok well since i haven't ever really introduced myself i will jump on the wagon here as well. Most have seen me around here on MAAST. I am located in Kingsville Tx, as it shows on the top right lol. I am active duty military member US navy. Been doing it for 12yrs and yes i plan to retire as well lol. I have my 90g semi-reef ain't calling it a reef until everything gets bigger instead of the frags i have lol. One thing I have noticed is all the help here. As well i look forward to meeting a bunch at the GC grand opening. I will sooo be there and shopping already saved some money lol.

I live in Universal city and have been around MAAST for about a year. I have had many auariums in the past, but this is my first Marine. I wil not go back to fresh water. marines are just to challenging and beautiful. I have a 125 gallon and most all of my corals came from MAAST trades of gifts.
What is GC Reefers grand opening??????

Hello all! I'm also new to MAAST. I been in the hobby for about 3 years now, lurked around the site for about a year before becoming a member. I thought I knew a lot till I had an uninvited guest (bryopsis) show up in my tank. I'm thinking the lawn monster is winning the battle but I'm not giving up yet. So I totally agree that marine is a challenge.

My name is Jason, i've been an addict for quite some time. Since finding saltwater aquariums my life has recently become unmanageable. Oh wait, this isn't reefers anonymous?
I had a saltwater tank a few years back and loved it. But, at the time with new kids and new job I didn't have the time nor the income to do it, so I sold off my system (almost 100% DIY). Recently though, since the kids are older and job stuff is stable, I have gotten back into the hobby. While my work is Computers, my life long passion has always been fish. In College (Go Islanders!) I studied Marine Biology. But, after realizing I didn't want to stay in school to get my PHD, I switched to computers. But, i've kept my love for fish alive.
My other passions are long walks on the beach, romantic candlelight dinners. Here I go again, this is MAAST, not a dating site, sorry!!!
I love to joke around (I'm worse in person!) So please, up front I never mean to insult anyone, I just like to have fun and joke around, so if anything I say bothers you, feel free to PM me!
Thanks,
Jason
