Its a coarllife supperskimmer 65 and it won't make bubbles when I first hooked it up it was doing fine then went to empty cup and now no bubbles there are no clogs but if I blow on the air hose a little it works so can I hook up a small air pump or any other ideas or suggestions. I can wait to get rid of this thing but untill I can afford a better one this is what I have to work with.thanks

I have the same skimmer Texmex. What pump are you using to feed it? Did you happen to hit the red knob that handles flow/bubbles? Is this the first you have had it on, or has it been running for a while?

Question is, are there micro bubbles in the reaction chamber....?

check the air tube & the fitting that it hooks up to, if the red knob is not the problem.

No bubbles in the chamber the connections all seem fine its like its not sucking air. The pump is the one made for the bigger models. This one is the 65 model. Like I said I can blow into the tube then will get bubbles in the chamber but its not suck the air in. It was working before I took the cup off now its just full of water and no bubbles. Thanks

Have you checked the venturi on the pump? Maybe something is blocking it? Have you also checked the pumps connection? When you blow you are putting a lot of force through the tube. It could be the pump connection got loose? Check the pipe to the skimmer and the pipe that connects to the pump.

Also do you have your diffuser on or off the line? If your diffuser is clogged, it would stop the pump from getting air. And to blow on it, you would have to take it off to blow, hence it works again... Just a thought.

Also, how deep is your pump? Everything i've read, and my own testing shows it works the best and produced the most microbubbles when the pump is no more then 2" from the top of the water. Any lower, and your performance goes down the drain.

if you are testing it in freshwater, it wont make bubbles without the salt in the water. If you require glueing or affixing anything remember to put something thru the air inlet to prevent the glue from making the seal.

check the "basket" in front of the inlet on the skimmer where the line attaches i had the same problem and find out my line wasnt secure once i put the basket or guard on there with the air line attached to the "venturi" everything ran great. i just messed with mine same style. onlything that will stop the bubbles from going is a stuck needle wheel or clogged air inlet "water rises high in skimmer" if its not kicking any water out of the outlet then your wheel is stuck and not spinning.

Thanks for all the help I think my problem is that the pump is to big for the skimmer cuz I have to keep it turned down but if I turn it all the way up it makes bubbles but then it overflow the top cuz it don't drain fast enough from the skimmer. The reson I had bubble before is cuz the return from skimmer was right on top of the pump so it was getting bubbles from there. Thanks again I think I will try putting an air pump on it today

u can also check on getting the right sized pump for it. i did what you are doing with the airpump and little experimant on my own skimmer. and ended up causing it to stop pumping water. like the air was too much for it.
