I've decided to try another tank. 40 gal breeder with a 40 gal sump, 2 65w pc for actenic, 2 250w mh., ASM G2 skimmer, mag 9.5 return pump with squid, Vortec MP 40 (great wave).
The origional plan was to have a closed loop with OM Super Squirt 4 way, and since that didn't go as planned we decided to go with the MP40.
I went through 3 pieces of glass:angry: and finally just bought a whole new tank from Petco and drilled that.:whew:
I'm going to post all pics so please bear with me there are alot. Thanks for checking out my build.
Here ya go!

This is the closed loop idea
We drilled 6 holes in 30mins! Glass hole saws are WAY BETTER than a Drimmel!!!!!

This is just a quick plumbing job we did to test the equipment. The bubbles are from air being sucked in but the pump because the pluming isnt glued. The pump will be under the stand and the plumbing will look alot cleaner! Jason's got it all planned out! :taunt:

Plumbed up running went to glue pvc together after testing and on the very last piece... CRACK!! :hypnotyized:

Sorry the pics are so bad, I took them with my phone.
the mp 40 was the best idea yet. I think I can surf on the wave that this thing is producing.
Next is going to be finishing the canopy and the back, we just need to cut down the back to match how much we cut off of the canopy and trim it all out then paint.
Honestly I had no idea how this build was gonna go, but Dustin really came through. It is a GREAT idea to have someone there to look at it as the process is going on to bounce ideas back and forth. I sure didnt think I'd ever have something other than a basic system and he talked me into just getting in and doing it right. I still will be pretty simple but its alot more than anything ive ever had .
Now here is the finished product.I hope you like it,I love it .

Thank you. I had ALOT of help from dustint21. We had alot of late stressful nights working on this tank :at_wits_end:, and alot of broken glass. I'm just glad to be done. It was well worth it to me though. I was thinkin about calling it the Bonsai Inspired 40 gal. but I think thats taken lol.

I have the mp40 and it works great. I thought it was gonna do the same thing and blow water all over but it does great. I think I'm going to make a video of the wave and post it on here.
I had no idea what I was going to do with the stand I just knew I wanted the stand to be tall and the canopy and stand to be all 1 piece. Again Dustin came through and we bounced some ideas arround and this is what we came up with. I couldnt be happier with the way this turned out.

Vernon you know you are always welcome to come by lol give me a call. My advice is just jump in and do it. I would never have done this on my own without motivation and someone who wasnt scared to just do it. Give me a call 254-285-1951
