pump upgrade

I am thinking about upgrading my return pump. I currently use a cpap 1800 that is moving approximately 300gpm in my 60 gallon (about 4ft up). ACE is selling that MAG 12 that will move approx 1100 gpm. Is that too much for my setup?

All really depends on what your return can handle. You don't want to pump more into the display than the overflow return can handle or else you have to throttle back the return pump or up your overflow larger pipe/extra over flow etc.

Is there any way to know how much it can handle? I have about 1.25 inch hose running from my overflow.

Im' not sure if there is a way to calculate the over flow. i am sure somebody here does. if all else you can use the mag and put a ball valve with a t fitting that goes to your sump so you send the extra water back into the sump and you don't put much backpressure on the pump.
