Ok so i bought a flower pot coral from a local LFS. MISTAKE. from what i have read today. The care level is Difficult etc. I really don't want the coral to die a slow death etc. So i am wondering if anybody would like to make a trade the coral i got yesterday and is currently doing well in my tank. I am new to the coral side of the house and mainly want to stick to the hardy side of the house (stupid me i diddn't ask the LFS). so if anybody is intrested in doing a trade let me know what you can offer. I would take it back to the LFS but they will turn around and sell it... after it was sold to me and no store credit either?

Sorry to hear this, the care level is not as difficult as you may read. In my last tank, I had 13 gonioporias. You need to ensure that you feed them, I target fed them daily, a mixture of mysis/brine/marine snow. They require moderate flow, but not direct flow. If you have clowns in your tank, they may host the flower pot. (Which will result in ultimate death) Your lighting should be fine....
What color did you get, the green flower pots are the most common, but the colored flower pots are more hardy. Too late now, but for reference, always check the bottom of the flower pot for recession, I have had some that grew back, but they took time and care.
Don't get discouraged..... if you were closer, I would gladly trade you a coral for it.

I have two clowns in the tank they have no intrest in the flower pot yet (another worry) I have them palced in the middle of the tank they get a moderate flow not direct and I have seen them eat when i feed the tank brine shrimp i also feed them directly with my yellow polyps i am just worried i won't be a good care parent to these awesome coral. so far in my tank i have yellow polyps/candy cane coral/purple poylp/mushrooms/kenya tree (thanks purtxn i still owe u) and white BTA. all are doing well with the flower pot i guess i am just really concered cause i want it to do well.

I actually had one that looked like it wanted to spore/spawn, but never did. The life expectancy/survival rate used to be a year, now with more studies on them, they live much longer.
It sounds like you are heading in the right direction, if it is eating, I would think it is healthy. Keep us posted.

BTW......driving the wife crazy is mean....lol!

will do i also have zoo plakton that i put in the tank. but if somebody wants it they can have it for a trade ( i would like to get something lol) i don't have zoos and at the local lfs's i can't find any bright colored ones mainly just the green. the size of the flower pot is (skelonton about the size of a closed fist) with the plyps out streching 6 inchs awesome looking and love the color. driving the wife crazy isn't mean she says i am spoiled with my tank...lol i see it and want it and usally get it lol....she looks and the price and i see that REALLY look on her face. lol

So if anybody wants to trade for some zoos' or other hearty coral i don't have hit me up.
