I have noticed a dead zonein my tank near the front left of my tank. I have tried to adjust the power heads but it has not helped much.

Suggestions.

Verizon... LOL, I think I might buy a more powerful return form my sump, then split it so that I have two exit points that I can aim...

Are dead zones an inevitability??? Or can you completely get rid of them...

You can certainly minimize them but unless you have no obstructions (live rock) in your tank, without flow fom multiple areas or a wave box, as Bird mentioned or something like a Vortech, youre probably going to have some small regions of lower flow...

Not sure what type of corals you have or the look you are trying to acheive in your aquarium. But dead spots aren't bad in a heathy fuctioning aquarium ecosystem.
In fact if you are growing a lot of softies like mushrooms I find you can get greater polyp extention with virtually no flow.
I currently have a 60 gallon corner tank set up with about 200gph flow from a single return pump, basically the whole tank is a big "dead spot", yet every soft coral I put in the tank flurishes.
Remember in our aquarium we are trying to simulate the ocean and all facets of that HUGE environment, including flow.

Thats very true but I think hes looking to minimize dead zones to reduce the ammount of detritus build up if Im not mistaken, correct me if Im wrong.

Yes that is correct I would like to minimize the dead zone to keep food and such form collecting. When I feed I watch the food and see it circulating through the tank. I ampretty pleases with the result, but this one area, just collects the stuff...It is like a grave yard...

What type of snails / crabs would be good to get rid of this stuff? Cerith Snail, Nassarius Snail??

Algea is not a problem, I just do not want all the detrius in the tank...

nassarius snails are awesome for consuming extra food, and when you feed it's like the scene from waterworld when all the jetskis pop up in ambush.
