It's time to finally add some fish to the aquarium and I was thinking the Blue Chromis to start, from what I understand it seems 3 would be a good number.

Do any of our sponsors carry them regularly? I would rather go to them 1st before others, but if not, could someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance for any help!

These are pretty hard to find. I saw some in a new braunfels lfs but they were already sold when I got there. If you find some let me know. LOL I'm guessing you are talking about the blue reef chromis. There is also a blue green chromis but it isn't near as nice looking IMO.

I usually see them on websites in the wysiwyg section, they usually have outrageous prices though ahah.... good luck

I typically go for anthias when looking for a good schooling fish... Sometimes you can find them on sale.

RCA had a whole school of them a few weeks ago. They're all gone now, unless Jake got some in this week.

Anthias are among the most difficult to keep fish. I would DEFINATELY not recommend them for a new tank.

I'm just plain not a fan of damsels. If clowns (false-percs or ocellaris) are on your list, they are technically damsels, and can make a good first fish.

you can have an lfs special order them from you. quality marine carries them, but they seem to be seasonal.

Back up top please, still looking for these fish if any of yall have seen any local.

In New Braunfels the stores are iffy for even trying to order them for me. I'll drive to any store in SA or maybe Austin if they are there...

I have 6 blue/green chromis in my tank and they look great together. I do not know if you have your heart set on the blues, but if not I would go with the blue greens. The have a shimmering efect and when they are all schooling, it looks very nice. And for 7 bucks a pop, you can't beat them...

Fintique had a blue chromis today in their shipment. You can oder them. Their saltwater shipment comes in on Thursdays and it is also 25% off on Thursdays. I think they were about $7.
