Questions About Kenya Trees

I've been interested in getting some Kenya Trees for my tank, but have a few questions.

1) How tall do they grow?

2) Do they need direct light or is partial okay?

3) Do they have any special needs?

4) Are they expensive?

very easy to keep they like everything they get pretty big fast, i have about 5 frags you can have a couple, one thing as they grow they do self frag and do it alot

Yep. When I had my Kenya, it dropped little kenya's like crazy!

I can also frag out my Kenya tree if anyone wants some on San Antonio. I started with a frag that was about 4" a year ago. It is about the size of a volleyball now and looks great. I get more compliments on it that my "good" corals.

Ah, so they can get rather tall. I was thinking about placement in my tank. I think placing it on the sand bed would be best. I've love to have a tall one like puretexn's.

I've heard that they self frag rather quickly. I read a bit about their care and it seems that they are not dependent on photosynthesis but rather feed on stuff floating in the water. I'm assuming that also includes small pieces of food that get spread around during feeding time.

I may take you up on the offer. I'll check with my mom and see when she's coming up to Austin next. She lives in San Antonio and she'd probably swing by to get a frag or two on her way to Austin.

i have 3 capnella ready for trade...did great under my pc's even better under my double ended hqi/t5's...
all frags are over 1.5 inches
ill practicaly take any trade as long as there not green zoas(got to many)

puretexan when you looking to frag i would love to get a frag from you i live in kingsville but can meet you somewhere in corpus, i know how to get to the LFS's no problem but i stay away from petco

my son's dentist has a literal forest of kenya in his office tank. I've got one large one in my tank but it hasn't deigned to spread across the tank yet.

problem is i am in kingsville if i can get one from texan it will be nice cause thats a 45 min drive and we can meet up if not i will have to figure out how to get one from another location

You need any refugium g.r.a.s.s.? I have a ton of it also. I don't think Aquarium Masters needs anymore for trade in, so I'll be boiling and trashing it if not.

no txn i have a bunch also i need to rid of as well since i picked some up its doubled in size and tanking the whole area i have it now lol, my wife will be showing up and your first on the list for the frag. she will be driving a white jeep grand cherokee.
