Okay so we had our 75 gal temp setup for our reef until we got our 240. Well now that I was moving everyone to their new home I noticed lots and lots of baby shrimp. Cleaner Shrimp I am thinking cause thats all I had. Has anyone ever seen this happen in their tank? What can I do to ensure their survival. The tank will be still be running with LS & LR but will be a fowler here with in the next week. Any ideas? Give me your thoughts.

More likely Mysis shrimp that was growing in your macro. Major breeders have been trying to reproduce cleaner shrimp for quite some time for the aquarium trade. They breed and legs eggs often but the fry are very difficult to raise.
Mysis shrimp, on the other hand, reproduce well in the refugium and will be small, clear/white and are excellent food for your Mandarin and other fish.

Thanks Mike, ok so they are mysis? Is there a place that the mysis could have come from? I only feed frozen. They are not in the fuge but in the tank itself. No wonder my Mandarin is FAT! :)

Mysis come from live rock, macro or live sand added. They were seeded from someplace.

They're not really too terribly difficult to raise, it's just that they'd rather eat each other than anything else!

I am trying to raise peppermint shrimp for kicks and thrills, you have to put them a separate tank with low flow AND good water quality. Which is hard to do with low flow. Then you have to assist them through each stage with the right food source. So far my endeavor is a failure. But nothing good is easy.

Yippeee, I got some pix, not the best Ive taken but good enough! :-) LOL

All while I decided to put a skimmer on our 75 anenome tank I thought this would be the perfect time to suction some out with a turkey baster. Well it worked... I tried to take some pix of the actual sump with them all over the place but they were just too fast. So once i used the baster I squeezed them out into a black bowl. I figure a little contrast will help them show up in the pix a little better. Sure enough lots better but not quite good enough. :) Oh well I tried...I will give it another try when they all get settled in again. In the mean time here are a few of those pix. Enjoy.....
