Kole Yellow Eye Tank Nipping at Lawnmower Blenny

I got a Kole Yellow Eye Tang a few days ago. He's eating like a pig, but one of the odd behaviors he has developed is attempting to eat off my Lawnmower Blenny.

My Lawnmower Blenny will sit in a corner and spread his fins, then the Kole Yellow Eye Tang comes over and starts "kissing" him. There is no damaged to the blenny and he doesn't seem bothered by it.

Am I going to end up with tang/blenny hybrids? Is this a bad behavior?

i read a few articles were yellow eyes nipped off cleaner shrimp fellers, i would make sure there is no harm to the blenny but you shouldn't worry about hybrids lol

I'll keep an eye on him. I've had the blenny for two years and he's survived many other assaults including a tomato clown pair. He'll be good.

I had a yellow eye that was VERY aggressive. He killed a copperband and a powder blue that was more than twice his size.

Hmm, I heard that they were supposed to be pretty docile. I'll keep an eye out and make sure that he's behaving himself. If he doesn't he gets a time out in the sump.

Not even grounded in the good section with the refugium, in the skimmer and filter sock chamber! Its like fish hell.

Good thing your not from Switzerland. Basements are hardcore there.
