haha i will be there too taking apart the 215. i will have my flatbed trailer there. you really dont need suction cups. pete and i put that tank on the stand from the back yard at joses. so if you have 4 people it will go really easy. i will help you load yours if you help me load mine. cant help with the set up cause i will be doing the same thing after we leave his house. but you are more that welcome to add stuff to the trailer if needed. we live very close to each other i live off grissom and tezel very close to darth tater

also if you use the rubbermaid's drill hoes on the top of the lid and container then use a zip tie to hold the lid down that works like a champ

Wow what a weekend. As my wife said, we are still not set up.

First let me say, Stangchris-Thank you very Much. We appreciate you sticking with us just about all day. We will still get you what we promised, just come by anytime. Jennabee and Adam - Thank you guys for everything. You were there early in the morning and late in the evening. Carl - Thanks to you and all you family. And Jose... I know it was tough having around 150 people in your house, but we made it. Last but not least, Gabe and Jason from Gabe's Fish and Exotic Pets. They both took time from their "business" to help us out (and are still helping). I can't say enough about these guys...

Like my wife said, we had some leaks but fixed those. Tried to turn on the pump last night - no go. Hopefully my wife will chime in and give another update.

Again THANK YOU to EVERYONE who helped out...

Ok so here I am chiming in on what will be another long day. Got the pump up and running now as stated above. We now have filled the tank with fresh water and I am taking a break. Its running good all around. THANK GOODNESS. Just gonna do a little cleaning to the glass and drain it then it will be ready for Saltwater,LR, LS and let that cycle for a day or so.

Our livestock are all doing good. We lost our Garden Eel. :( We have a 75 gal a 90 gal and a biocube all running with livestock. Coral are still in the Brut Buckets with pumps and lights. I will be posting pics just as soon as I have some extra time. Please bare with me. This has been exciting so far. Im sure pics will add some life to it all. LOL

maast cart is large very much in the way object made by steve NACLH2O. the thing could support a house. if you need to move a tank its great but you are stuck with it till the next big tank move or someone else needs it. unless someone like steve volunteers to hold on to it. great for moving a tank

All sorry this has taken so long but here are a few pics of our big move. For those of you who helped get these two monsters torn down from top to bottom. Thank You. Everyone worked hard and carefully with everything. Oh yea and if you ever need the Maast Cart to move a tank, it is highly recommended. You would need 3 people instead of 8 to move a tank. It was exhausting.

Also a Special Thanks to Gabe & Jason @ Gabe's Fish & Exotics they have been an awesome help as well. They were right when we needed them. Late at night or early in the morning they came to lend a hand.

Again Thanks to all.

it's really cool/nice to see that all of you guys/girls help eachother out when it comes to moving tanks and setting them up.....here in Laredo i had only my brother and 2 in laws that helped me with carrying the stand and tank inside. but i had to do all the setup on my own. then when it comes to a point that i need to get the canopy off i have to wait about 1-2 weeks for someone to help me...

Hey Rob,

Thanks. We wanted to have it set up that night but a higher power had different plans. We had a few leaks in the plumbing and a shell in the return pump that caused it not to work.:bareteeth: But all is working fine now and everyone in the tank is doing good. Transferred lots of pods and copods from our 75's fowler fuge hoping to seed the monster fuge below the 240. And just bought 3 bottles of more pods and added them last night. Just looking for a UV Sterlizer now.. I will continue to post in this thread about the progression of our new tank and all its fish and coral. And the color of the trim is going to be changed from pink to a deep red. Thanks to all for the support.:applause:

There are 12 t-5's on this monster. :) . The timer had already turned on one side thus the reason of the two different looks. It could use a little rewiring and we are looking into getting that fixed. :) Appreciate your thoughts. oh and yes the Tv was on. LOL..

It's looking great, Eve and Ross! You're making me have flashbacks to the weekend we upgraded from our 100g to our 210g; never worked so long and hard on a project that's just a "recreational hobby" in my whole life! We were absolutely exhausted when it was time to go back to work on Monday morning.

Big kudos also to the Maast linebacker team that stepped up to help with the move. We were out of town that weekend and it was really bugging Mike to not be able to offer to help, as he sees it as his personal responsibility as a big guy to offer to help move heavy objects. Think he just felt left out of all the fun! This is what I love about being part of this community, seeing everyone step up and help each other out.

Best of luck to you guys with the new tank. Keep us updated.

What kind of skimmer are you using on this bad boy? Also how are the t5s doing or should I say how are the corals growing? Also my girlfriend loved the pink stand.

Hi Keil,
We are currently using an ASM G3 Skimmer. A little small for our setup but we dont run it that often. The tank has only been setup about 3 weeks or so. Still to soon to tell on the growth of the coral. We did have some growth in the 75 gal that was running t-5's as well when the corals were in their temp home. (2weeks). Thanks for the comps on the "Pink Stand" previous owner said it was a washed out faded Red. It will be redone to a burgandy color to match the furniture. :)

Hey everyone,
Here is a little update of our tank. We were a little busy this weekend and we thought we would share the fun... 1st off we installed the frag tank down in the sump area. It sits on top of the actual 100 gal long sump which has 4 chambers, skimmer, culerpra & cheato, liverock and return pump area. The skimmer is an ASM G3. The frag tank has 4 chambers as well. We finally completed the cycle proccess lost a few fish in the process but over all everone is okay.

Mabel, Thanks for the comps.. It did take alot of work but in the end it was all worth while. I will take more pics over the weekend and put them up. :)

Mike, Thanks for the comps as well. I know with that 125 you will work some miracles as you have done with your 75. It looks great. The camera I use is a Nikon D40 with just the standard lens. Nothing too fancy. :)

Thanks for the Comps.... :)

Thank You Jack. The RBTA's have split once already. :) We still have them in and around the tank. There are now 2 of them. The clowns love them. The Carpet is located in our 75 gal reef previously a FOWLR. I will be posting a new thread about that one in the next couple of days. Thanks for the comps as well.

Looks great Eve and Ross! I love the frag tank too. What kind of bulbs do you have over that thing?

Thanks Rob! :) When we setup the frag tank the picture you saw only has a standard florescent light fixture. We have now replaced the florescent with a 2 bulb T-5 fixture ( ATI Blue Plus & GTE 6500 Daylight Bulb)

Update:

After going through this thread. I have come to realize how fortunate we were to have the view we did of our very own piece of the ocean. We enjoyed sharing our journey with you. Hope you enjoyed it. Be on the lookout for a new build thread, tank, stand, canopy, lights, fuge, all the works... Our new tank should be arriving soon.
