midwest aquatics sulphur denitrator $150 . Used. was working but I figured out what was causing my high nitrates (fish poop) so I do not need this any more.

thats what I meant :The Sulfur DeNITRIFIER
Sulfur Based Nitrate Removal System
The Sulfur DeNITRIFIER is scientifically engineered to remove nitrates from your aquarium quickly, safely and effectively.
so did the system work

to my suprise it actually worked! the key is maintaining the proper flow rate thru the reactor. I added a us plastics needle valve to the setup which worked out way better than the pinch valve the unit came with. I even put one of those valves on my calcium reactor.

Don't they come with Eheim pumps? Or is that just for recirculation? Also, do you have media?

yes the eheim pump is for circulation. I was using the aqualifters to feed the nitrate reactor and my calcium reactor but found that they both stay dialed in better being fed by a tee in my return line.(sequence barracuda pump)I think the higher line pressure was the reason. Also less stuff going on under the stand.

Do you still have media and about how old is it? I'll probably get this from you, and I don't mind paypaling you now, but will probably not be able to pick it up for at least a few weeks when I pick up a chiller I just got off of here also. I come up to Round Rock once every few weeks or so ...

It is still full of media. I just took it off line and turned it upside down to drain off the water.I dont think the sulphur bead media midwest supplied ever has to be replaced. the calcium reactor media that goes on top of the sulphur has to be replennished periodically.I also have a little of both types of meda left over.
