I found out the hard way that sixline wrasses don't care for the fairy wrasse types. Another member confirmed that they typically cannot be housed together. Unfortunately, this was after I added a sixline to my tank that had a beautiful Potters Leopard Wrasse in it.

It started off slow...picking at the fins when out of site, then started to get rougher. Unfortunately both are quite fast and I couldn't catch either of them. Not until the Potters was half dead in a rock, but at that point he was beyond help.

VERY upsetting as this Leopard Wrasse started eating frozen food on his own after week three. And even more odd was about 5 days later he even started eating nori. I was so happy to see him doing so well and he quickly became one of my favorites in the tank. Now he's gone

i have a Sixline in my tank with a quad of McKosker's Flasher Wrasse. It does not bother them anymore. When first adding the Mckoskers to the tank, it tried to stalk them but due to the sheer number, the Sixline was not able to focus its attention on any one wrasse. I did float the Mckoskers in a breeder net for 2 days so they could get used to the tank without immediately hiding upon release. This also gave them a better start.

Yeah, sixline wrasses are tough little buggers. I had tried to add two yellow coris wrasses, but the sixline that I had killed both of them in less than two days.

Always a good rule to add the more agressive fish last. I had a hogfish, mystery wrasse and xmas wrasse together with no problems. I just took the xmas out for a couple of days while the mystery wrasse aclimated, then added it back in.

What about 6-lines and Mystery wrasses? I want to get one but I just added a small 6-line a few weeks back to my tank. He's only about 1.5 inches long if that.

We added a small mystery wrasse to out tank over the weekend. He proceeded to get the snott beat out of him by the 6 line and fairy wrasse. He has now been MIA for 24 hours. Hope he makes it.
