Here's some pics from today. I took 5 million of them, but no tripod was DUMB of me. :) 5 million shaky pics, but a few gems!
Here's the non-gem. It is a FTS though!

TY Giau, I may be selling my display's rocks since the zoas are crowding out my SPS! You still need to come by and drink a beer or 3!

Thanks Tony, lots of time, money, and dedication into it. It now pays for it's supplies at least. :)

Thank you very much. The settings are f-stop 3.8, shutter (varies picture to picture) usually around 50 for non macro shots, the lens is a 60mm macro, the camera is a new to me Nikon D80 (wife's old camera, I got lucky), and the best trick...? Hmm, I would say that when taking macro shots in tanks, the one thing to remember is that corals that you can photograph best are the ones where you can get the lens pretty much flat to the object you want to focus on. If the top of a piece of SPS is tilting away from the lens, or toward, you will only get a small part in focus. I used it on the green mushroom pic. Since the middle portion of the mushroom goes away from the camera, I focused the outer part of the pic instead of the middle.

Nice shots and I've found that 3.8 is about the perfect f stop on my macro also.

Sweet pics Erik! You're making me think about macro lenses again. :hypnotyized: I'm not sure that a good thing. Thanks for sharing!
