It was on www.bulkreefsupply.com (http://www.bulkreefsupply.com) Im pretty sure it was well under $200. They arent having the sale anymore, but they are offering free shipping on the Octo skimmers. Anyways I have heard alot of good things about the Octo HOB skimmers. Im sure you will love it.

If it works anything like the way its built, it should be a great hang on... Its built like a tank! Very clean and all the joints are perfect. Guess Ill find out soon, it was higly recommended.

Jim,
I'm running the Octopus Extreme and really like it. They are definitely well build skimmers, just watch out for your pump not starting back up on it's own. Not sure why this problem exists with this pump and mine just has the regular needle wheel, not the mesh mod and it still does it.

This pump doesnt use the mesh mod, it uses a new style purple pinwheel that is supposed to give much finer bubbles and help with restart issues... I should have it running some time this weekend, stay tuned.

Heres a pic shortly after I got it running... No skimmate yet but I expect great results from this skimmer.... One thing Ive noticed is how quiet it is, an extra bonus.. I'll post m ore as it breaks in..

Mine has the Sicce pump but not the mesh mod, just the original black pin wheel. I'll have to look into the purple one you are talking about since I have the restart issues.

Hey thanks, Im liking it so far. Ten times better that my old Remora Pro or PM HOT 1 and at least as good as my old Beckett. The Hot 1 is actually a decent skimmer if you stay on top of pump maint.
