What do people run for photoperiod? Just read an interesting thread on RC regarding improved SPS growth and color with reduced photoperiod, like 5-6 hrs MH and 8-9 hrs actinics. I run T5s, 10hr all on, 12hr actinics and it seems my SPS color is a bit muted. Growth is OK. Thinking about cutting back my photoperiod and seeing what happens.

I've cut back my MH photo period from 7 hours to 5 hours and leaving my actincs on for 10 hours. In the time since I started, I've noticed more growth than usual, and the colors in one of the pieces that has been browned out are coming back at a rapid rate. I highly suggest cutting it back. Worked for me and a bunch of others!

When I was using the T5's I had my blue plus bulbs on for 12 hours and the daylight bulbs for 8 hrs. Growth was phenomenal with the T5's! My new halides are on 8 hrs a day.

I like the natural look of metal halides.
