OK, I need help. I have about 15 corals, some on ceramic plugs, some on live rock. The ones on the live rock are no problem. I have 'holes' or crevaces I put the ceramic plugs in where I want my corals, expecting they will grow and cement themselves there. The problems is my clean-up crew. Every few days the snails knock them off. Short of taking all the rock out to glue the plugs in place, how can I make them stay?

Two part epoxy. I have tried them all.
The best one, IMO, is the Tunze 2 part product.

Mix the epoxy, put on the ceramic plug, put in the water on the rock where I want it?

you could also use super glue gel. i prefer loctite - they have a 10g tube at lowes for $5 (it is a solid blue tube). make sure to get the gel. take the coral on the plug out of the water. put a blob (translate as more than you think you should use) on the ceramic plug. put the plug in the water taking care not to run it thru a strong current area like the front of a powerhead. rub the blob against the rock where you want it to stick until you start to feel it grab, then push it in place and hold it there for a few seconds to a minute.

Take care not to get your fingers stuck to the blob...

I prefer Superglue gel as well, keep an eye on your skimmer if you use the epoxy..

one good thing I picked up is you can cut the bottom of the plug with cutters and it makes the plug easier to mount.

I do a combo. A make a ball of epoxy, put a blob of superglue gel on it, stick it to the frag, then another blob of superglue to the epoxy, then smush it into place. When you push down, the ball of epoxy conforms the the crannies on the rock.

That's what I do, Heard it from someone on reefcentral. It works great. And it's fairly easy to remove if you need to later on. But strong enough to keep anything from knocking it off.
