well i have a self made overflow made out of pvc. im looking for paint to use. the pvc is going to be in the tank as well as out. when painted going to cure for 1 week. any tips.....

I think people here use that spray paint for plastic from the hardware store, its non-toxic & made with acrylic (plastic resin) that bonds very well.

krylon fusion for plastic, you can find it at walmart, and you don't need to cure it for a week, one day ought to do it

krylon fusion for plastic is safe in the water, i've used it a couple of times for in-water applications with no problems, pvc won't need to be sanded or primed, just make sure its nice and clean. be aware however that the paint will scratch off if rocks or something else thats rough drags against it. as long as your careful about it you should be fine.

No. You do not want to use a primer with Krylon Fusion. The paint is made to be used without a primer (it actually adheres worse on plastic with primer). I wouldn't worry about sanding the pvc either. Just wipe down your parts good with lacquer thinner and allow them to dry before painting. Then you'll be good to go.

okay thanks ill try it out. pvc is going to be in the water. im going to paint the back as well. what paint should i use for that.
