Rose Split possible problem with clone.

My rose bta split on sunday and the clone still hasn't closed up its mouth. The parent anemone seems to have already healed up. Should I be concerned and move it into a qt or will this stress it out more?

Moving it is just going to stress it more. Give it more time to recover.

Did it split on its own or did you split it? If it split on its own, it will be fine, just watch and wait. If you split it yourself, keep an eye on in case it does not make it so that you can pull it out of your tank before it releases a bunch of toxins and crashes your tank. Run carbon just in case?

It split on its own. I got the reactor running already.

Keep your water quality up...I found that clones in my experience when naturally cloned seem to act as though they are FREEEE when they first split from the mother colony and take off around the tank for days and some times weeks before they settle down. And, when they do finally settle down, it's normally right back where they started or close to it anyways.

Mine have always looked horrible too up until they settle down. Just keep your water parameters in check and frequent small water changes. It's best left alone. Keep an eye on it though as stated above.

Ill be doing water changes for the next few days anyways (stealing water from my tanks for new tank)so I will do that and keep the carbon reactor running. Its right underneath the light fixture so at least I know it won't bleach out. This morning I was concerned cause it was pooping but no real mouth has formed so it was coming out of side. Its close enough to the surface to smell it and it smells fine and foot looks healthy.

It can take a couple of weeks for them to heal up - especially if it was a small one - a small part of the total anemone. I've had mine split into 3 before, and the little ones are REAL slow to recover. And sometimes don't.

My rose was fairly large and split right down the middle. I'm guessing and havent measured they are both 4in now. So when do you think its safe to feed it?
