Has anyone seen this? I have a feeling that this will be a lot better than the RKE:

Neat! Thanks for the link. I guess I won't jump the gun and get a RKE just yet ...

yes, with the ability to choose to either go into advanced mode to do your own programming or to keep it simple like the RKE, thats going to be really cool. i think this is going to be more stable and just stronger than the RKE. i'm really thinking of switching over to neptune and try it out

Nice, but still no match for the GHL

Nice, but still no match for the GHL

Depend's on what's important to the individual. The ghl is a nice piece of equipment however, the apex has upped the bar with it's current monitoring ability. If the unit report's that a light etc is on, then it's truely on, that's a very nice feature that is important to some. I have a large part of my tank automated due to extended business travel and this ability alone gives me quite the warm fuzzy. :applause:

Cheers,

Nice. However, Reefkeeper Elite just unveiled four new modules.

The RKM-HUB has 5 bus ports for easy expansion when the traditional daisy chain is not an option. 1 x Power Port 9VDC input voltage for providing additional power to your system.

The RKM-PC1 is useful for controlling those high current devices like chillers and large lighting fixtures. The RKM-PC1 can supply up to 15A (10A inductive) to one or more devices.

RKM-SW5: Two Bus Ports, Four Switch Inputs, One Relay Port.

RKM-SL2: ph, salinity, two switch inputs, temp probe.

All these competing companies are going to be great for us. I'm glad someone figured out reef geeks are gadget geeks too.

I was actually going to order the aquapro 3 model and saw this listed on a pre-order. Then I found this thread on a search. Does anyone know when it's being released? The amp meter capability is awesome.

i think in a month or something, i know its very soon. im still using my RKE and like it so far, but looking at the GHL 3.. if it werent so expensive id get one. RKE so far is good, just hate how they work on modules to release before fixing the bugs that already exist

Curt at Neptunes is reporting the first batch of Apex systems will ship on or around June 22.

All of the previous Aquacontroller modules can be used with the Apex.

..It really comes down to what will I need my controller to do. Many controllers out there are overkill for most setups not to forget how expensive most controllers are I see the price of most of this stuff going down in the near future anyways. For most reefers out there I would recomend the brand new ReefKeeper lite has 4 input strip temp probe and configures it any way you like and it is expandable! all this for $99 rather than $500.

yes but the RK lite can only have 4 modules, so like 2 PC4s and 1 SL2 and 1 SL1, or 3 PC4s and 1 SL1.

I dont like the the way the apex looks, but it looks more flexible than the RKE
