"I was warned!!"

Usually, when we render a warning, its from previous research and/or experience. Next time you'll maybe heed the warning... Theres your obligatory slap on the wrist...

yeah, my experiance has been the same, the long tenticle plates (heliofungiids) are not well suited for aquariums. the short tentacle plates are much hardier.

I unfortunately found out about the "warning" AFTER I purchased the helio from the vendor. He was holding it for me until the end of my stay at the convention. I went back to him after Anthony and Eric told me of their experience during the fragging demo. I explained my concern, but the helio was mine...he told me it was healthy and I should not have a problem...yes...it should be left in the wild...never again...but does anyone have ANY solution or suggestionfor its treatment? I googled the topic and found nothing :-(

you could do some heavy spot feedings, my plates really go for cyclop-eeze. whenever i feed it they open their mouths up very wide and they extend their tentacles more. If the plate will take them, try feeding some small pieces of silverside as well. I attached a picture of one of my short tentacle eating cyclop-eeze so you can see what it should look like if they are eating. Honestly though, given the short time its been in your system, and the level of tissue loss, i don't think you will be able to arrest its decline. i do wish you good luck though.

oh thank you Marshall...I do have short tentacles (3), and do spot feed...the helio-long tentacle is still eating PE Mysis, but your right...the tissue loss is a bad sign...thank you for your help and that is a pretty fungia!!
