Some pics of fuges from the TMAC lesson. Just examples of ways to include a fuge.

Ping,
after listening to you at the TMAC confrence i started thinking about how i could work a refugium into my 65gal RR tank. here's my question could i put some Cheato in the overflow and set some egg crate over top to keep it from being sucked down through my return? I just don't have the room in my sump for a good fuge, with a skimmer/pumps and wet/dry filter.

I would be concerned over somehow accidentally restricting or blocking the flow of water. Or on some systems it would be difficult to have the water perfuse throught out the overflow. The water may become too stagnant at the bottom.
Might work? anybody elses thoughts.

It would be great if other people posted fuge pictures here.

I will post a picture of my novice fuge tonight.
Hey Ping, isn't that a box of MREs supporting the Fuge in the very first picture? In case the fish run out of mysis shrimp perhaps?

Lets keep this a fuge pic thread and open a new thread on your idea in the DIY section.

Here's the only pic I have of mine. I'll try to get a better one later tonight or tomorrow if possible.

OK! Here is mine. I just hard plumbed it this Sunday. Not 100% where I want it, but getting there. I had to add a filter because the new overflows stirred up so much silt. I plan to cap them with extensions (to about 2-3 in. off the bottom)with 180 degree holes drilled to defuse the flow as it enters the fuge. hopefully, will reduce misting and evaporation too.
(I already did this with my return, worked great, silent and crystal clear water.)
