Please send your thoughts/comments/suggestions/etc.
I should be upgrading my tank to about 60 gallons soon. And so I'm plotting on what I'm going to do for setup and I'm curious as to what people think. This will be my first major chance to redo things since I first got in the hobby and didn't know much.
OK, first the easy stuff. I'm thinking DSB in refugium, shallow black sand in display, with dark blue painted back glass.
Also, For coral layout, I would like to use hard air tubing as in this video: reefvideos.com 'mounting"pegging"'
Lastly, I would like to make a couple pillars out of my current live rock by drilling a hole through the pieces and then sliding then onto a support frame (PVC pipe or acrylic rod). There are several examples in RC "show me your pillars" thread.
Does anyone have experience with doing this?
