As many of you know I'm downsizing until I can purchase my new tank after we move. So...I'm keeping some of my favs in my 24g...

I really want to keep my Kryptonite candy cane but I have no idea if it will live under PC bulbs, it seems to favor strong lighting. It's thriving in my 120 under metal halides. I just need it to live under PC bulbs (32w) for a few months.

Any feedback/experience would be appreciated.

Hey Rob,
We had candycanes in our old 100g with just pc lights before we upgraded the lighting. It did okay, but I would say not thriving. If you fed them some also to suppliment the lighting, I think they would probably be fine till you upgraded.

Mine seemed to do well and added new heads steadily in my old 29g biocube. It had stock pc lighting (36W 10K and 36W actinic). Had it a little over halfway up on top of a rock. Bottom line, I think it would be fine. See you tomorrow. -Bill

Thanks for the feedback.. Are you both also refering to the kryptonite candy canes? I'm worried that they have higher lighting demands then the regular candy canes???

Thank you.

Pretty sure it is a Kryptonite. Here it is in the biocube under pcs.

Yep, Mine are growing fine in my 14G Biocube. I have 3 24W Bulbs and they are placed at an intermittent high/medium flow halfway to the top and mine have awesome color and are growing great.

I gave two to my brother/sister-in-law to put them in there 29 gal. bio cube and they did great, so well I fragged them and now they have six. Of course I keep telling them they need to change out there lamps because they are 17 months old!
