Ok, now what do you do if you try the MaastTide one and that little box is nolonger there at the bottom? I think the size is set to wide and it won't scroll over.

I wonder if all those boxes that that are next to the threads can be placed underneath the recent threads box to allow the forums thread section to be wider. Other than reduced size left to right I really like the look of the Maast Tide.

Tide and Legacy are real nice

I like the Legacy...makes the page look "crisp."

Legacy looks nice but I lose my "Home" button.
I Like Tide but it does not fit my screen.
The pink art design at the top is cool. Can that be put into what ever change is made?

Needing help i guess. My only viewing options are Maast main and VB4 default style? One other weird thing is that my link to this site in my favorites doesnt work now! Where are you guys seeing Maast Tide etc????

cory, this thread is from the last upgrade, i dont know if the skins brian mentioned here will be compatible with this new version. i am sure he will let us know when he gets to it, the changeover did not go as smoothly as he had hoped and he is working diligently to clean things up.
if your link was to the old forum index and not the maast home page, you will have to redo your link (already figured that out earlier today). just click on forum at the top and once you are on the index, save the new web address as your target in your link preferences.

yes these skins are no longer compatible with the new version but I will add more skins when I have a chance to make them in the future.

yes the link will also change, you will always come in on www.maast.org and it will no longer be at www.maast.org/forums as the new software has a built in content management system so the root had to move which was one of the reasons for taking me so long last night

What happened to the ability to actually see photos that I want to upload?? Somehow the new style isnt letting me see my pictures off my own computer to upload to maast.

Mon, 19th Apr 2010, 09:08 PM
you are right, it doesnt give the option to upload a pic from my computer to attach to a post (i just tried with this post). this is probably one of the things brian will be working on. you can always use the img tag to display photos from a third party site like photobucket in the mean time.

I uploaded a picture a few minutes ago and it worked the same as before the upgrade. When I uploaded this picture, it worked totally different.

First, THANK YOU Brian for your amazing dedication.... 5 AM is no joke! I know there are still lots of tweaking to be done.... I am unable to login and browse from my phone anymore (centro). Is there a setting I can change to help me out?

I like the new look! I do have one suggestion that is somewhat unrelated. Is there anyway to increase the logout time out? It seems like I get logged out pretty fast.

firefox - nevermind, it is working. you have to hit the select files button for the upload window to pop up :)

if you check the "remember me" box, you should stay logged in.

Im using internet explorer 8 (whatever the last one is) I get the pop up window to add files/photos to download..BUT , the files that I have already uploaded to the site (that appear in the big window before you drag them down to the bottom) are just boxes and cannot see them. I can click them to add , but I have no idea what photo im adding. Its set to see thumbnails.

Vbulletin said that some users may experience problems with their new advanced upload utility, so I may just disable it until they release a stable version

OK, I logged on and MAAST looks totally different, not bad, just different. Going to take a bit to get used to the change. My first question/concern... the home page only shows the 8 most recent threads and no box at the bottom to scroll to page 2, 3, etc. How do I see previous posts past those most recent 8?
I love that this text box now has a spell-checker like Micro Soft Word and underlines in red misspelled words (it thinks MAAST is a typo). That will help poor spellers like myself! Gonna do a little browing around and see how it works.

It's at the bottom. Unless of course, people set their settings to not be visible, which is possible in the old version, don't know about now though

Is it possible to make the 'Our Purpose' section smaller? I can't see anything but the top of the first post listed because the initial screen is filled with other stuff. I agree with msmith619, it would be nice to see more than 8 recent posts on the front page. Other stuff will just take getting used to.

If you click the "What's new" tab at the top of the page you will see all the posts that are new as well as sub menus to other things such as new blog posts, etc.
The landing page will be changed a lot in the coming weeks, this is a new system and I have to configure or write the modules to do different things. So please just bear with me I don't have a lot of free time and the free time I do have I have and will be pouring into the site

As with anything new. People are still going to want the old back. The familiarity, ease of use, and comfort level, etc...etc...
But I think this will be a nice change, I am already getting used to it by playing around some and going to different areas of the site. Good job Brian....this is a task. :)

I agree Ismael.
There are a ton of new useful tools on this version. I just started playing with the blog features and there is all kinds of new features just in that itself.
Once we get past the initial shock factor I think everyone will find that this upgrade is a true benefit to the club and it's members. There are just so many more things we can do now.
Anyways... "I'm lovin it." Thanks Brian for putting in the time.

Just an FYI: "What's New" button is only working as the "New Posts" button.
I made like 4 new blogs and none of them showed up.

lol, not much to read, I was just playing around and trying out new features...and ended up just creating posts with full tank shots of my tank from month to month. I really just wanted to have one blog post that I could update frequently with new pics...BUT, it only allows for 4 pics per blog. So, I had to create multiple blogs that I put into one category. We now have a category organizer for blogs. Kind of cool. The new blog system is set up to more efficiently manage your own blog site. The old one was pretty basic and was kind of a waste of time.
