....... I'm really disapointed at myself ... somehow something fell on the Carnation in the bucket.:thumbs_down: I have it tied on a rock with some line.

http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n293/Calvert13/55%20gal%20reef/55a8.jpg

Didn't really get a good pic of it and it's wilted right now (I've read most do during the day.) but at night it's about 2"-3" insteadof 4"-5" like it used to be.

Good news is that little ones have been pop'n up.:)

tank look great. i love the zoo's on the overflow. i've always liked it when people put zoo's on tank walls and elsewhere, but couldn't see myself doing it personally.

i just noticed you have a hang on back filter. any reason why you're using it? i used to use those filters on my nano's every two weeks to run carbon, but never useds it full time. they're just a bad as bioball sumps for a reef tank.

Thank you again for the replys and my photo skills. lol

The filtration is an Emperor 400 and an Aquaclear 50 ( it was the filtration on the 30) and I'm useing a CPR Bak-Pak. I rarely use carbon ... I try not too actually.

.... the "overflow" is actually just the front, it's been turned into an in-tank refugium that the Aquaclear flows over.

I only use RO-DI so I feel that helps on the clarity.

.... yes the plate is so happy .... :):):)... he's been the favorite in the tank for a while. There is a pink one that I'm about to pick up soon. I feed him 1" pieces of silverside once a week. I've cut a bottle that goes over him so no one can steal it from him.

Thank you.

When I decided to put this together, I compared four of my favorite tanks.

I still need some more LR, but I'm happy with the way it is right now.

Oh I love that cap -looks awesome!
The picture of the mandarin in profile looks like the tummy is a little sunken in. You may want to try and enrich his/her food with Selcon at least until he/she has filld out a little. Beautiful fish and a gorgeous tank!

Dude...I'm loving this tank! You only have PC's for light! Your growth is excellent. I've seen a few tanks with only large HOBs as filters, and they have been great.

Thank you, that cap is one of my favorites also, if you are talking about the pic of the mandarin awhile back, that was about a month after I got him. Both him and his female are both eating brine/mysis as well as pods, I'll try and get a close up of both of them but they look nice and plump. Though I will look into the Selcon.
