I have 3 frags to trade. One is about 4 inches tall with several branches on a medium size live rock. Second is 3 inches tall with a few branches, the third is 2 inches tall with one stalk.

If interested let me know...

I couldn't add a picture to the PM so I'm posting it here.

Here is a picture of the larger one. I was told it is a Green Coral Tree. The smaller one is about half this size, but has not opened all the way yet this morning. I figured this one would give you a better look at it. Under T5 lights they turn greener the more light they get.

I also have a third one that is about 2 1/2 inches tall, but it has not attached itself to the rock just yet....

I think a trade is in order :;

Looks more like a Kenya Tree to me. If so, I have some of them all ready. Actually, have a guy coming by to pick some up today.

no, defiantely not a Kenyan tree, although they do look similar at the younger stage. When a bit larger the trunk is a purple blue shade that carries through all the branches. The "leaves" are a brownish color. I think that kenya tree, colt, taylors, ect..all look very similar when younger and then differenciate (sp) when larger...check out the picts on the "general thread" post. I have a picture of the Larger Taylor there...the thread name is "Picts of our 125 tank" or something like that. It is the huge coral in the middle of the tank. It is about 10+ inches tall...

Let me know...

It was kind of hard to tell. Here are pics of two I have. The first I believe is a Coral Tree (Finger Leather), the second I think is a Kenya Tree. Does yours look different?

The colt, kenya, and taylors all look similar....the difference between the taylors and kenya tree is the contrast of color between the trunk and leaves(I am not sure what else to call it) The trunk is a purple/blue with deep brown leaves. Also, the Taylors grows more tall and "tree" like that the Kenya. But al three are very similar. Seen side by side you can tell the difference IMO the Kenya and Colt look more "bushy" and the Taylors looks more "tree like". Check out this website...this is a much better picture as to wha tmy Taylor tree frags looks like....

On a persoanl note, my Purpe Taylor Tree that is over 10 inches tall is spectactular and is the main eye cathcer in the tank. It reminds me of a large oak...I will try to post a pic of it in the forum...

Yes, I can see a little difference. Is the purple noticeable under tank lights?
Both pictures are what I have been calling Kenya Tree.

The first is in high flow/low light. The second is low flow/high light.
They are both are from the same frag, but show interesting color changes.

I am not a coral-ologist (is that waht they are called?) but the Kenya tree is in the (Capnella sp.) and the Taylors is in the Nephthea sp.. Even so, both are very similar. Under my blue acintic and 10,000K lights there is a distinctive difference in the trunk and the leaves. The trunk is a purplish blue and the leaves are a brownish red. the man I recieved the coral from was adimate that it was a Taylors purple tree and the research my wife and I have done points to the same conclusion.

HOWEVER, (like I said) I am not a coral-olgist and both do look very similar. I think the main difference is the slight color change, the tree shape, and the height that the taylor tree gets to...

When the taylors is closed, the leaves and limbs are definatley a dark, purple blue....

I am not trying to sell you on the coral, just trying to point out the differences. But like I said your coral on the right looks very similar...

If you do not want to trade, could I buy the green tree coral?
