:lightbulb:

In my mix reef, after I was able to savage what the monster algae done. I added a wave maker so I may have good circulation. To my surprise in a couple of day, we notice a round disk like thing with a short stem. It would make it way to the top and let the fan blow it down to the sand bed. We guess it was a Jellyfish. It propels it way to the top by flapping its round disk like top. But it so **** small I could not capture it on camera.

In a couple of days I was in AD, talking to one of the guys explain how it looks. He also thinks it a jellyfish of some sort that hitchhike. Weird thing is I thought “it” would not last, that maybe my mandarin or clown would eat it.

To my amazement it still alive, there more than one. And none of my fish eat it, although they do get close to it. I still doubt that it’s a jellyfish nonetheless I love watching them.

Catch some and put them in a shallow dish of your tank water. Get a magnifying glass and take a closer look. Maybe you can get a pic.

If it is brown and swims fast I think its a hydriod in it's medusa stage. I had a few in my tank last month. Zapped them with boiling water. Haven't had anymore since.

Could be a medusa... Still a small object to see. Have a macro setting on your camera?

It could be a medusa of a hydroid, but most hydroids do not have a medusa stage. It's probably another type of jellyfish.

Look at your live rock from pulsing hydriods and you will find your culprit.

isnt that the jelly fish from Australia " I think" that can kill if it stings you?

OMG IT IS....... DONT TOUCH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your fish are smart enough to stay away and thats why they are still alive.

Ok. Really. Neat loooking little guy. Looks like a jelly to me.

Ive seen those in my tank from time to time. Although it looks like a jellyfish its just a free floating stage of an aptasia-like critter that spends most of its life on your LR.

Look up corallimorphs it looks alot like a type of those I have them on my live rock and they are actually pretty cool when they grow a little. Mine is clear with white tips.
