I think I am? My water is a littlIe bit cloudy, I mean it's not horrible, but there is definatly some sort of "flim" in the tank. The parameters are fine. I have five fish in a 29 gallon, 1 1/2 year old tank (which is probably a little above capacity, considering 2 are large). Anyhow, would this "filmy" stuff be from overfeeding or something else? I only have a few crabs in there for clean up, which I just added today, 4 blue legs and an emerald, I also "think" there are 2 scarlets, but I haven't seen them for a while (there is LOTS of live rock). My snails, cerith and nassirus should be coming from ReefCleaners tomorrow, and I know that will help out too. Oh, I feed twice a day, one cube of marine cuisine a day, a large pinch of Prime Reef each time and 2-4 large flake of formula 2 each time. Have a skimmer and mechanical filtration as well, put new filters in the filter today.

Thanks

for a tank that size and bio load i would go a steo down on the feeding. i would say go to once a day and swith between cube one day with the prime reef then the formula 2 so its not the same everyday and less for the filter to clean up. but thats just me

Is all the food being consumed in 5 minutes? If so ,do you have powerheads pointing towards the surface?Tell us more about tank and equipment. What mechanical filtration, how much live rock and what skimmer? They more info, the easier to help.

our 20 long produced a film on the inside of the glass, which made the tank look cloudy, only the razor blade scrapper would take it off completely.
