Has anyone had any experience, good or bad with them? I ordered two live items last week that it said were in stock, requested shipping on Monday for Tuesday delivery and NADA!!

I never recieved my order from them. Waited two months no word kept telling me it was coming in that friday and it would ship that monday. I finally got tired of it and called to have charges reversed. Personally I would never order again from a site that doesn't have a phone number and addressed posted.

I have ordered about three times from them. Once a skimmer, and other two were livestock. As with any other shipment, possibility of losses, I lost some snails first time, and this time (only cause I had credit with them) I had a fish die. I will not be ordering with them again though. But I did receive everything I ordered.

I still haven't received my order from these guys at Saltwater Anything so I'll give them the one final email notice to make things right before I have to call my credit card company and reverse. I'll make a final post regarding how this was resolved.

dang this website must be getting a lot of traffic this week. its weird how they have no contact information, no way of telling you how many fish they have in stock, etc.

I have ordered from them about 5 times over the past 3 years with no real complaints. Never got any dry goods or corals other then mushrooms. The fish are general quite health. And those that don’t make they have always honored there 15 day alive generally and all but 2 fish have been the as advertised size or larger. We did just have an order come in and lost only two fish due to unknown causes and will be sending it back for the full refund of purchase price.

I sent a somewhat ugly email and received a rapid response saying that the livestock I purchased didn't look too hot and they were waiting on another shipment, which made me feel better. All I ask is for them to stay in communication with me and after that ugly email I think they will. Thanks for the feedback.

I wish my ugly email did any good.

So, I spoke with Brian over the phone about ordering a juvenile or small Queen Angelfish, since it seems that NOBODY anywhere has them or is able to get them. Brian said his Caribbean supplier was going to have them in Wednesday (the one before last, I think) Anyhow, I requested Friday shipment for Saturday delivery, both over the phone and in my order request online. I was charged for the amount but no fish, no confirmation email. Brian sounded like a decent guy over the phone and was helpful, so I called to see what was going on and he apologized and said he thought I wanted it on a different day. That sounded plausible at first, so we agreed he'd send it out Tuesday for Wednesday delivery. I stayed home all day again and got nothing, no confirmation email either.

That evening I sent out a strong email but no response.

I have also been unable to reach anyone over the phone.

Today I sent out an email through the Anything Saltwater site (I ordered through www.godscreationsunderthesea.com which appears to be Brian's other site, but the card was charged through ANything Saltwater) and also to both of his email addresses again requesting to be contacted and saying I would contest the charge by the end of the week if I don't hear back.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!!

Don't even bother waiting they will not respond, not even to the credit card companies request for contact for resolution. How this company is even still in business is beyond me. If the BBB ment anything now a days I would file a report with them, however most people don't check the bbb anymore so the best thing to do is continue to give them bad reviews maybe people will do a search and pick it up and not waste their time with them.

I live in Boerne. 15 minutes from LaCantera or the Rim on I-10 from San Antonio. My LFS, Red Crest Pets, 830-249-3191, has 3 blue angels right now about 2-3 inches in size, a rock beaty and a black angel. I bought his juvenile queen, it was in his store for months. He gets regular Caribbean shipments, talk with him.

It's is against the law to charge before shipping, UNLESS a deposit was required (special order).

Sorry, but that is inaccurate. It is good business practice to charge at time of shipping but certainly is not against the law to charge before or after.

Really Jon? As a MERCHANT, maybe you need to read this:

http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre28.shtm

In particular: "In addition, many credit card issuers have policies against merchants charging a credit card account before shipment."

That seems to include the "major players":

According to Janet Hug of Visa USA, "a merchant is not permitted to
bill ahead of time" except in case of a deposit (http://stason.org/TULARC/finance/consumer-credit/409-Can-mail-order-merchants-charge-my-credit-card-before-t.html#) or down payment that
the customer agrees to.

MasterCard (http://stason.org/TULARC/finance/consumer-credit/409-Can-mail-order-merchants-charge-my-credit-card-before-t.html#) said in a letter that a merchant can charge you before
shipment only if s/he tells you and you agree to "the terms and
conditions of the sale."

American Express (http://stason.org/TULARC/finance/consumer-credit/409-Can-mail-order-merchants-charge-my-credit-card-before-t.html#) said the merchant can charge your card as soon as
you give your account number (http://stason.org/TULARC/finance/consumer-credit/409-Can-mail-order-merchants-charge-my-credit-card-before-t.html#); but if you receive the bill before the
merchandise, call Amex customer service (http://stason.org/TULARC/finance/consumer-credit/409-Can-mail-order-merchants-charge-my-credit-card-before-t.html#) and you don't have to pay
while they investigate.

As I said, its NOT against the LAW, its against the card issuers policy. THEY are not the law.

Bill S

LOL. OK, Jon, I'll give the "the law", if you will agree that it's worse than "bad business practice" - as you will basically LOSE your ability to do business.

In any case, the vendor is LIKELY in violation of their agreement with your credit card company - and face the loss of their service if you report the.

Oh, yeah. AND if you were stupid enough to use (or own) a DEBIT card instead of a CREDIT card, you are toast (or other more colorful words to that effect).

Thanks for the replies, guys...what do you know, I received a reply today saying that they could only get large Queen Angels at this time and not small or mediums, and my money was refunded.

I am glad to have been able to read the feedback here on this forum, however, and to add my experience to the list. Brian, the guy I spoke to who seems to be in charge, seemed both knowledgeable and easy to talk to, but apparently he is terrible at maintaining communication with his customers. He also assured me that he wouldn't charge me until the fish arrived or was shipped--I can't recall which, since that was over the phone--but obviously that wasn't what happened.

Incidentally, it seems NOBODY can get small or even medium Queen Angelfish in at this time. I will call Red Crest Pets tomorrow and see if they can locate one and can ship to NC. Maybe it's a temporary issue...a LFS here said there was a time when they couldn't get Yellow Tangs for 6 weeks!
