wet/dry or a Canister Filter?

I have a quick question, (new guy here) I'm setting up a 125 gal and I'm wondering what filter to use, wet/dry or a Canister Filter? and where is a good place to get one? online or from a shop? I live in San Antonio TX :ph34r:

I have a 40 gal tank and had no problems at all, even had a lot of the purple stuff, (which I was told was a good thing) :) I'm also trying to sell the 40 gal as I need the room for the 125 gal !!! :shades:

any idea's or tips for me too, thanks

Welcome to MAAST, you would get more responds if you post all these questions in the GENERAL DISCUSSION forum. This is a very slow traffic section .It's usually just questions for the MODs and BODs to answer. A sump(must have item) is like another tank that houses all the goodies (like skimmer,heater,fuge,return pump,auto top off port,etc.). Anyway just post some pics and what you want to do with your tank.There will be plenty of people here to chime in to help...Ok let the fun begin..

sump is where your water will over fill if a power outage happens, without stilling all over the place. I built my refuge and wet/dry filter. a canaster will cost more in the long run and will work just fine but you'll be filling your tank up more ofter with water

Another vote for Wet Dry/ Fuge. I stop using Canister filters back in the 90's

I just have a 29 gallon that is not baffled. It is full of sand, LR, and macro algae. I do not use a skimmer and have a high fish load.
