Having a fragrack sounded great... My wife, on the other hand couldn't stand the idea of black egg crate.... or for that matter, any others we've seen. Hope this one will satisfy her!.....I like it!!!

The rods will remain exposed. It will be behind other rock in the back. I will post another picture when it gets in the tank.

Love the Fraggle Rock pics... I had forgotten about it, til Cecil showed me the pictures......What my husband(chark) forgot to mention, was that I found the delightful rock to be used, and he that I really do think he did an awesome job getting it to work. Once the coraline algae grows over the acrylic the pillars will be even less noticeable..... (I AM still glad there is no egg crate in the tank...whew, am I lucky!) His amazing hobby...now addiction is beginning to bleed into the whole family.... It has been so cool watching the tank development and getting to see so many of the amazing tanks/corals/fish you all have! ----Rebecca, chark's other 1/2

If you had wanted you could have always used some great stuff foam and foamed around the columns. Now that would have looked cool also with the big rock sitting on top of the rock columns. If they are acrylic it would have stuck very nicely.

Really nice job. What type of rock did you use to make that and where did you get it? Your coraline will cover those acrylic rods in no time.

Would like to say it is a grand species of rock, but the reality is that it was a piece of flat hard paving stone that had been in an acquaintance's salt water aquarium... sat idle for a while, until the idea for the rock came up. I then washed it thoroughly with RO water and baked it to ensure it was "clean"...... So, there's the "secret".
