hi, i have three power compact light units rated @ 65w each. I was wondering what bulbs i should get. Two actinic and one daylight or any suggestion you may have. The actinic bulds are rated @ two different colors 420 is more of a violet, and 460 is a blue color. 195watts in a 29 gallon tank shoukd get me about 6.7 per gallon. lights will be placed in a canopy. what band of bulbs should i get. corals that i have are green star polyps, zoanthids, xenia and soon to be mushrooms. Any input you have will be greatly appreciated. thanks
1.two dual 65w actinic half & half 420 & 460 bulbs
one dual 10k for daylight.
.
2.two dual 65w actinics bulbs 420 or 260.
one dual 10k for daylihgt.

I would take #2 provided they have their own power cables so you can put them on timers to simulate different lighting effects.
Example: Run the actinic for 10hours and the 10k in the middle for 8 hours.
Also, take note: WPG does not really matter these days. What matters is the intensity of the light against the depth of the tank and distance of the light from the water and of course what types of coral you are keeping.
I prefer a blue actinic. Also those corals aren’t very demanding on light so make a choice based on what looks good. If you ever want different corals in the future you will have to consider the lighting again.
