There was a thread about salt in the general forums. I was thinking about calling some of the places and see what kind of deal they could maybe cut us if there is enough interest.

Let me know.

I'd possibly be in depending on deal and brand.

Anyone have a shipping dock that it could be delivered to for lower freight compared to UPS or FedEx ground?

If we could do it I'd say narrow it down to three differrent ones (if they can make a deal).
Red Sea Coral Pro 175 gal bucket
Reef Crystals 160 gallon bucket
Instant Ocean 160 gallon bucket

I'd like to try RS Coral Pro or stick with the old IO.

I always like the Reef Crystals, but then again that was when I was keeping SPS. Now that I'm just with softies and LPS regular IO is probably just fine.

Cliff if you order IO i am in.

Cliff I was already looking for the Red Sea Coral Pro but if majority of the people here want the Instant Ocean then I can just take it as well.

Here would be the deal. You can order whatever salt you want from DrsFosterSmith and the max shipping will be $18.99 for the group regardless of weight and we can just split that between how many people want to order. Here is the link to their salt selection if everyone wants to do this as a group order.
I say that we keep this open until Friday and then we can figure out the cost for everyone and they can paypal me and I'll make the order and have it shipped to my place and can be picked up from there. Once we have the order ready I'll figure out everyones amounts and place what you need to send to keep it easy (this will include the paypal fees if paying that way).

I removed the DrsFosterSmith link for this reason. I've had contact with a local shop that can do the below prices and there will be no shipping charges but taxes (I'll get the tax rate). If the number of buckets exceeds ten then the prices will be a little lower also but not sure how much difference. Here are the prices quoted at this time, but I need to find out the tax rate. Maybe a few cents higher after taxes but we are supporting a local retailer and helping keep them open and in business. Let me know what you think.

Just found out that these prices are with taxes included.

IO 160 gallon bucket $39.99
Red Sea Coral Pro 175 gallon bucket $45.99
IO Reef Crystals 160 gallon bucket $45.99
Seachem Reef salt 160 gallon bucket $45.99

I posted this one in the other thread:

Drs F & S have 200g boxes of IO for $45 and RC for $50. Shipping is $19 for 9 boxes. (that's the limit they've had in the past). You get a $5 gift cert for each box you buy. Remember, the buckets are for 160 gallons.

I could use a couple of buckets/boxes of RC

Tax will be about 8% which is more than shipping, BUT I'd much rather support a local shop!

I'll try a bucket fo RSCPS what the heck, I've been wanting to. Cliff I'll pp as soon as we know for sure where we're getting it from due to Bill's post etc. I'm in either way, but prefer local if possible.

That price included tax.

BTW, if anyone was curious the guys as The Critter Shop were nice enough to make this offer to us. Free plug for them here I guess but I too would love to keep money local if possible.

That is a terrific deal.

Until you look at shipping. Unless you know something I don't know about this company's shipping policy, it's not worth it.

Shipping is - gulp - $48!

Local is fine with me.

Frankly, I'd just as soon pay someone $5 a bucket if I can go get it. That's what I WAS doing with Louis at AW, and then he went under. The other shop I started using originally met Louis' price, then started jacking the price up each time I bought more - a bucket every 3 weeks. When I was told that it would be $69 the next time, that's the last time I went into that shop... I've spent 5 figures elsewhere, since.

So, local is great.

OK, here is the final deal. As of about 3:30 pm today I will be out where I will not have internet access all weekend until later Sunday evening. Doubt I'll even have cell coverage from what I'm hearing.
The totals I'll need are below with paypal or without. If you want to just give me the cash I need the $$ in hand before ordering. Nothing personal but with just a 58 gallon tank I don't need five buckets of salt sitting around the house.

Please PM me what you want and your form of payment. If you want to send a check to me I'll send you my address, or we can meet up. Due to some work issues I have going on I am extremely busy right now but can attempt to meet up if you want to just give me the $$. I will accept payments through noon Wednesday of next week.
He needs the order by 2:00 pm as that is when he makes his order. The salt will be in on Thursday but I will not be able to pick up until Friday. I have a large database move that I'm handling Thursday that will have me working that evening as well as the day. You can start picking up your salt from my house starting Saturday as I have a party that Friday evening also.

Sorry for the long story but want everyone to understand I'm on a tight schedule for the next week or so.

Paypal to brewercm@satx.rr.com let me know which salt you want

IO 160 gallon bucket cash $39.99 paypal $41.45
Red Sea Coral Pro 175 gallon bucket cash $45.99 paypal $47.62
IO Reef Crystals 160 gallon bucket cash $45.99 paypal $47.64
Seachem Reef salt 160 gallon bucket cash $45.99 paypal $47.64

gun lock??? i have some you can borrow!!

Wouldn't help since it wasn't my house. I have a huge safe that I keep all my guns in. If someone can get that thing out of my bedroom closet by themselves or even with one helper by the time I found out they could have it. It took me and two others to get it up the stairs and into the closet.

Let me know if you have sent money and what you want so I can get a tally going of what will need to be ordered.

Bill, I got in later than expected and will give you a call to see if you'll be around later this afternoon. I have that reactor in my car for you also.
