Hello Guys,
I just finished my last cup of Red Sea Coral Pro. I originally got 3buckets from Jason @ Pets R Us @ 39.99/bucket plus an extra 10% off the whole purchase just for the hell of it. Well, now that I'm going to buy a new bucket, I found out it's $60/bucket . As much as I love my fish, I'm not going to spend $60 in Salt.
So I would like your opinion to see if there's a less expensive salt that I can purchase that's close to being as effective as the Red Sea Coral Pro.
Thank you for reading and your opinion

I just bought salt. I looked everywhere for a good deal, and there just isn't any right now. No one has any sales going on. The price of salt has gone way up recently.

just go with whatever you can find that is cheap instant ocean I hear is not bad i think its about $35 in town. If you want the good stuff red sea pro coral is about 55 at wolf reef you will not find it any cheaper. there have been a bunch of testing on actual numbers of many salts out there and what good and bad about each from what i found seachem reef seems to be the best numbers are very close to tropic marin pro reef if not better

Numbers on Oceanic beat out Tropic Marin in the batches I've seen tested.

The comparisons seem negligible on most of the products, but I'm no reef chem whiz, so I could be eating my shoe. Alot of people use all different kinds of salts, and have great results with each different one. What it comes down to for me is if I have to dose or not after a large WC to get my levels to 440 and 12, after that my reactor does the rest.

I mail order salt. Salt is really expensive here in Corpus. They have deals online sometime. I use Reef Crystal and Order about 4-5 buckets at a time which help with shipping cost.
In the past, they have free shipping which is a real deal but not recently.

Call a couple of the places like drsfostersmith, premium aquatics, marine depot, etc. and see if they'll make you a deal on shipping if you can get a certain amount ordered. Then we could do a group order on the batch.
I might even do that if enough people are interested in doing it. I can give them a call today and see, but they'd have to be picked up at my place.

Drs F & S have 200g boxes of IO for $45 and RC for $50. Shipping is $19 for 9 boxes. (that's the limit they've had in the past). You get a $5 gift cert for each box you buy. Remember, the buckets are for 160 gallons.
