Has anyone checked these out yet? Haven't seen par readings for them yet. Supposed to be still be bright like the 12,000K but bring out more of the blues and greens.
I am about to the point of changing out my bulbs - currently running 10,000K and 12,000K Reeflux 250 watt bulbs. How

12K Reeflux is blue enough for me.

I've been running Helios 20Ks for a year. The colors are nice - but growth was slowed quite a bit.

I am planning on getting 2 of the 250s one of these days. Sounds like you get good growth for a 20K.

Good news from Jeremy @ ReefSpecialty.com
I am running it on a CV 250w dimmable ballast. The Reeflux 20k was indeed brighter than the 6 month old Reeflux 12ks when I first installed the lamp. But when I replaced the old 12ks with new ones they appeared to be all equal in brightness. Now after burn in the 20k has taken the brightness level down a notch and the 12ks do indeed appear slightly brighter. Like I mentioned before these 20k lamps are very bright and appear like a 15k bulb or an overdriven 20k.
This is what the market was looking for, a bulb that appeared like an overdriven 20k (Radium on HQI ballast) that wont hinder the life of the bulb. Pesonally I think CV hit it right on the mark of what they were trying to produce but the 20k # seems to mislead some people of what they consider a 20k is supposed to look like even though the spectral plots show were the bulb peaks.
I may try a mix of the 12,000K and 20,000K Reflux bulbs on the next bulb change.

I'd say if you were gonna mix mh's you need them side by side. Otherwise you get a bad pyramyid effect with the two spectrums. As im sure you know most people who have mh lighting go with the same mh bulbs and add t5's or CF's if different spectrum is needed.

If you want a Real Blue Effect with a Metal Halide you may need to use a Dimmable Ballast.
