My zoos are pooping

my zoos are releasing a long brown string from the middle of some of them they look healthy though. What could this be?

something like that happened to a colony that i had distrubed... then that brown sting stuff fell down on some purple candy cane i had. the candy cane then got that purple/brown jelly disease... and then the jelly stuff caused the death to the nieghboring corals (maze brain, plate, slimmer).
Atleast that what i noticed.

they are likely releasing zooanthanelle (sp?). have you made any recent changes to your tank (lighting, moved the tank, etc.)?
