Finally !! Tank Is Running

First off I would like to thank my wife who has put up with her dining room looking

like a mess for the past year or so. I would also like to thank ALL the MAAST members

that have helped throughout the years, I couldn't have done it without you guys.

Thanks to Pete Rafferty for the awesome woodwork.


Tank Info:
The tank was made by Tenecor and measures 120"L X 30"W X 36"T and is made out of 1"

acrylic. The tank has two 24" trapezoid overflows with four 1.5" drains and four 3/4"

returns.

The Stand:
I had some issues with the wood stand and had a new steel stand built. The stand

measures 121"L X 31"W X 43"T and is made out of 2" X 2" X 1/4" thick square tubing

and was made by a local Fabrication Shop called Oval Components (Thanks Jared).

The stand was picked up today and dropped off to get Lynex coated. I only had my cell

phone therefore the pictures aren't that great:

Got the stand back from the LineX shop.

Those guys did some good work:

The stand may look small, but look at the wall outlet on the lower right and you can

get an idea of it's actual size.

The stand is HEAVY my friend and I brought it down from the truck with an engine

hoist by ourselves and we broke a 1,000 lb Home Depot furniture dolly while rolling

it into the house, but it looks great. Now I just need to get some 3/4" Plywood for

the top and bottom.


Sump:

The sump is made by Dan's AquaPlex and measures 84" x 24" x 18"

Finally after a few years it's finally running.

Had a local member (Pete Rafferty) cover the steel stand with oak. He did an

excellent job and made all the doors removable. He did an excellent job well worth

the wait.


Got the ASM G5 running less then 2 days ago and it's already pulled all this:

Sure you can...just need heavy skimming or a large tank.!

All the fish seem to get along just fine, including the 2 puffers and I believe it's because I've been keeping them fat which appears to lower their aggression. The only fish that get's ticked off from time to time is the female maroon when somebody get's close to her rock which most of the time is my little flamehawk which seems to enjoy making her mad. For now the tank is a FOWLR and will probably remain that way since the wife wants an Imperator Angel.


We currently have the following fish:

8" Vlamingi
7" Magnificent FoxFace
5" Sailfin
5" Regal
4" Purple
4" Yellow
4" Powder
5" Female Maroon Clownfish
2.5" Male Maroon Clowfish
1.5" Flamehawk
4" Stars & Stripes Puffer
4" Dog Face Puffer

And we plan to add:

(5) Bi-color Anthias
Large Imperator Angel
(2) Racoon Butterflies
XL Naso Tang
XL Orange Shoulder
And the last fish on our list is a small Sohal.....

Don, we thought about adding a pair of crosshatch triggers but I don't think we want to risk them with the Anthias.

Hardware Changes:
I will be adding a Red Sea ozone generator/controller. I've never ran Ozone but have heard alot of good things about them as long as you have a good controller and use caution.

WOW, How did you convince the wife? Mine won't go into LFS anymore because I tell her my 55 gallon and 12 gallon Nanocube aren't big enough for the fish she likes.Wouldn't have that problem with a tank the size of yours.Looks great,keep the pictures coming.

Thanks for all your comments. I've been busy with work but I've added a RedSea AquaZone ozone generator and have slowly been increasing the amount of ozone that I'm injecting in the tank.

Regarding the Wife. I believe the reason why my wife is OK with the large tank is because she enjoys the Hobby aswell which is a good and bad thing. Good thing is I get to spend time and money on the hobby, bad part is that she put's her 2 cents which I sometimes don't agree with. Example I could have bought a larger tank for the same price but would have been 6" shorter but 18" wider but she wanted the tank to be atleast 36" tall and my door is only 34" wide therefore I had to settle for 30" wide so that she could have the height. She also tends to believe that all fish get along... But hey it could be worse ;) .
