Because I am dumb and forget to turn the ro/di off and overflow the sump about once every 4-5 months. I order auto top off system but the wife says i get an alarm or the tankj has to go. I have a 130 in the garage im stating to piece together and she wont let me put it up if i dont fix this problem.

I assume you could rig a float switch to a doorbell... Or you could just fill a 5g bucket at a time and turn a timer on so you know when it's full.

This is what we use, and it's extremely efficient. You can find it @ Lowe's or HomeDepot in the Water Heaters Dept. This is what it looks like.....

At the bottom, where the contacts are locate, it comes off and it has a wiring extension of about 3' or so. It gives you more flexibility where to place it and the alarm is pretty loud. Almost as loud or louder, as your smoke detector, but with a continuous screeching beep.

There are a bunch of different ones on fleabay. Try searching for "water alarm". We bought a 6 pack of them about 2 years ago. They've saved our butts.

you could hang your internet modem right at the top of your sump. Then if your internet goes down, you better check you sump.
