I have recently developed a alge problem. It is the short kind of green alge. I have checked the water and everything seems good. Any suggestions. The lights are 2 250 MH that are only 2 months old.

What type of fish or crabs will clean it off the rock. I dont want to take the rock out and scrub it.

I have probably 25 or so hermit crabs (blue legged and mexican) in my 55 gallon. They're usually dirt cheap and the keep the tank spotless. I have never had any algea problems.

Agree totally on these. Just remember that they will not do much for your substrate, but do a great job on the rock and glass.
