On Xmas day we saw one of our nassarius snails laying thousands of eggs on the glass of our 120g. At first it was a small batch and then she started laying more. For two days she was laying eggs..I don't have any predators in this tank that would eat the eggs. Do you guys think I'll end up with baby nassarius snails? Some of the eggs are looking a little more solid. Wouldn't that be crazy if they all survived?? Her eggs are so tiny I can't get a clear picture of them. So yeah that smear on the glass is the eggs. pretty cool huh?

I guess my first question would be, do they have to be fertilized? I don't know how snail reproduction works though.

I wonder if nassarius snails find a mate and then lays the eggs? I also have cerith snail eggs on the glass but they are already falling apart and going away. Nassarius snail eggs are still there. I wouldn't have known what they were, if I didn't catch her laying them. I know that some of the mexican cerith snails survive because I have a bunch of babies all over the rocks and glass.
Yeah, I don't know how snail reproduction works either.
I only have two clown fish in my 120g. Everything else in the tank is just corals, a serpant star, conchs, snails and anemones.
maybe bristle worms will eat them?
I will check on the eggs every day to see if any survive.

We have had baby nassarius snail survive in our tank. They are itty bitty, but since their shape is very distinctive we could tell what they were. Our tank is a snail breeding machine!
