does anyone know how to close them up or seal them if not being used anymore?

Is it threaded on the inside, if so teflon tape and a PVC plug.

it is, i never noticed that thanks, also can you buy bulkheads from home depot?

You have to go to plumbing supply houses or aquarium stores to get bulkheads. Ryan Herco sells top notch bulkheads. Just install a bulkhead and use a pvc plug from home depot.
