Is anyone using one and know how to set-up an aquacontroller jr? I got a great deal on one but need a little help with the set-up.

it seems hard to work with at first if you have any questions they have tech support

Steve,

If your ACJr has the serial port, it may be easier to download aquanotes lite from the neptune site, hook it to a pc and program it that way. Te ACjr comes with a default program already and a lot of times you can get away with modifying the lighting times etc and use that until you get more familiar with it's operation. Are you using a DC8/DC4 with the unit and what specific question do you have about setup?

I'm using the DC8 and just a little worried not to mess something up. I got this from scubastorey (Trudy) on DFWMAS brand new shipped for $215. It came with the controller, temp probe, serial cable, USB cable and DC8....Nice deal.
Ron, you want to come by and help me? LMAO!

Actually....I'm down in Austin working until 1/31 so I'm not tooooo far away. :shades::lmao2: There is a simulator program that you can use to test out your program before implementing them onto your controller/tank . I'll look for the link to it.

Steve you are welcome to use my code and cut out what you don't need. I run an AC3 and would be more than happy to help you with your code. :)

I run just about everything with it. I use probe expanison module [for sencond pH probe (calcium reactor), and temp probe in the sump], 3 DC8 controll modules (A,B,C), lunarsim module (D), aquasurf module (E). My lights are staggered so at most 3 halides are running at a time.

ACT$-C01 (actinics)
ML1$-B02 (halide #1)
ML2$-B03 (halide #2)
ML3$-A03 (halide #3)
ML4$-A05 (halide #4)
MLS$-C02 (sump light - chaeto)
MLF$-B01 (sump light - frags)
MON$-D04 (moonlights)
HT1%-A01 (heater #1)
HT2%-A02 (heater #2)
CHL%-C06 (chiller)
SKM#-B05 (skimmer pumps)
WAV#-C05 (tunze wavemaker)
TS1#-E03 (tunze stream #1)
TS2#-E02 (tunze stream #2)
KAL#-A06 (kalk stirring pump)
CO2&-A07 (CO2 solenoid)
SMP#-B06 (main pump)
CAL#-B07 (calcium reactor & misc pumps)
UVS#-C07 (UV sterilizer)

Steve,

It looks daunting at first. But, the menus are decently thought out, and it's easier than you might think. Very logic based.

All you do is for each item, decide what you want it to do (turn on/off for time, temp, pH, etc.

I'd advise you AGAINST having someone set it up - because then you won't understand it.
