Is the 40 too big for your cube?? Isn't there an mp20 thats also cheaper?

I think the Vortechs are fantastic pumps, but they definately work better on certain size tanks.......especially if you have two opposing each other to set up wavemaking situation.
I think you have the right idea to try them out first......

My situation worked out much better with different pumps for the flow and the Tunze nanowavemaker in the 115gal.

good luck

JC-i was thinking a tunze nano wave box does tanks up to 158g

Mike-seeing your tank is what turned me on to wanting one more, but thing is I just dont have that kind of doe for 2 mp40's.

Anthony-yes there is a mp20,but i was thinking future aswell, since the mp40 is controlable,I would tone it down for the set up i have now and then later when i up graded i would be able to use it then aswell.

and as ya'll can see Mark is who has now turned me onto the wavebox, but would still like to see how the mp40 would work as a single with my seaswirll.

The difference between the 20 and the 40w is the controls. You can upgrade to a 40 just by changing out the controller, just open the box unplug, plug into the new box and you now have a 40w. Might be cheaper on the long term just buying the 40w verse and 20 plus upgrade.

Do you need additional water flow with the mp40? I'm having problems with cyano and I could use the extra flow. With an mp40 could I stop using my koralia 4's?

I have 3 in my 90 gallon, but they are on the back wall and not the sides but one should work
