So I intially plumbed my iwaki 70rlt with 1 inch clear tubing and barb fittings. The hose had a turn in it that was a little too sharp and it caused micro bubbles because of the pinch. I put a 90 degree barb fitting at that turn and it was good to go-bubbles gone.

The next issue I had was the pump was pulling too much and collapsing the drain line from sump to pump(outside). I decided to replace the clear hose with spaflex 1inch, easy change-30minutes. Other than the hose type and fittings, it is identical. It comes out of sump 90degree turn, about 7 feet run, through the wall, 90degree turn, into pump. the return line is still the same clear hose to pvc combo. ---Micro bubbles everywhere worse than ever.

What should I do?!?!?!?!

Could A Snail shell in the pump cause this? I thought I saw one go in the other day.

it could yes, but more likely you have a very tiny leak on the low pressure side of the return,( somehere between the sump and the pump intake.. try running a bead of silicone around the hose fitting connection and see if it stops the bubbles,, it may be the the spa flex has a very slight difference in inside diameter and they are not fitting tightly enough

welcome to my world. I have had micro bubbles for 6 months, lol. Drove me nuts forever, then I just stopped caring because I can not seem to get them to go away.

I will give that a shot Mike. And I know Ray, my head is about to explode!!!!!!!!!! As soon as I have one thing fixed and I am ready to move on to another, something else pops up. I haven't even been able to setup my auto topoff because of this. I have all parts necessary including reservior, but I can't seem to get that far! Also have my media reactors 90% ready to go, but haven't had a chance with them.

couldn't hurt to silicone all your plumbing.make sure everything is dry first trying to seal wet plumbing will only defeat the purpose

Ok, I got it fixed!!!!!! I had one area leaking air, so I pulled that out removed the teflon tape, and put silicone on the threads. While I had the line cleared, I took the pump off, and opened it up to find not one but TWO medium sized snails in it. So I removed them and reassembled everything, siliconed every glued and screwed connection, and bam!!!!!! it was working better than it ever has. What was causing the problem? Who knows maybe a combo, but it is fixed now!
